Environment Analysis

whereBefore creating your presentation, be aware of the environment where you will present the material. Will you be in a classroom? An auditorium? On a stage? Outdoors? Your environment for presentation is important because it will impact what resources are available to you and your audience. For example, if you are in a classroom, you should ask these questions:

  • Will you have access to a projector, a whiteboard/blackboard, poster paper, etc?
  • Where will the students be sitting in the room?

These are questions you must consider when analyzing your presentation environment. Knowing the answers to them will aid you in preparing and formatting your presentation. Depending on the resources available within the presentation environment, you may need to adjust your presentation format or content to accommodate the surroundings.
