The menu bar, which contains commands such as File, Edit, View, Insert, Format, Tools, Table, Window, and Help, allows you to access all the functions available in Word. The File menu, for example, allows you to save, open, and print documents, while the Tools menu provides access to spell-check and collaborative document editing.
The View menu on the menu bar provides access to various Word interfaces including the Toolbars options.
One key interface is the Task Pane which can be accessed through the View menu or by pressing Ctrl+F1.The Task Pane, through its drop-down menu, provides quick access to the Word Help, Clip Art, formatting, and other features.
Other interface features include the Document Map and Thumbnails which can also be accessed through the View menu.
There are also different ways to view the Word document. The standard Print Layout option allows you to view the document as it will look when printed, while the Web Layout option is shows you how the document would look as a web page.
When using the Normal or Print Layout views, the Ruler is available and allows for easy manipulation of indenting and tab markers (we will discuss this feature in depth later in our Resume session). |
