Logging on to Email

Upon arriving on campus, new students will be required to go through an orientation to gain access to their CMC email account. Your username will consist of the first letter of your first name, followed by your last name, followed by your graduation year. If you need help getting your username or password please talk to your RTA in your dorm.

Students can log on to email from any internet-capable computer in the world by going to the webmail site: http://mail.cmc.edu. Students, click the Students button and then enter your username and password.

For CMC faculty, staff, and alumni: Use this button to log in.	Students: Use this button to log in.

Logging on email using a third party program

Email can also be accessed on your desktop using an IMAP email program. To do this, first create your Alternate Access Password, then go into Settings, enable IMAP and finally follow the tutorials given on the Gmail website. However, when prompted for your username type in ''Username@students.claremontmckenna.edu,'' not username@gmail.com. Your password will be your Alternate Access Password.

Tip: Ask your RTA If you are still having problems with email clients, webmail is the most reliable option. Your RTA is the person who is most equipped to getting you set up if you run into difficulties.
