Building a Simple Database

Navigating Around the Database
Moving around in an Access database is quite different from moving around in an Excel worksheet or a Word document, primarily because Access only opens one complex document at a time. Navigating databases is quite simple though: to view the different components of a database you can click on the buttons along the side of the overview window.

To open a particular element, like a table or query, first select the type of element (table, query, form, etc) and then double-click the specific element you want ("Members," "Fundraisers," etc). You can have many database elements open at once, and close or open new ones at will.
