Analytical Tools and Functions

Go to Formattingnext

After you have your data entered and organized, you will want to get started on analyzing them. The analytical tools and functions in Excel let you analyze data and perform many analytical operations.

Excel has many analytical functions built-in, but others require the Analysis ToolPaks add-in to access. The first demo below shows how to install the two Analysis ToolPaks.

The Analysis ToolPaks allow you to perform analytical operations such as t-Test, ANOVA and z-Test. The second demo below shows one of the most commonly used analysis tools in Excel: the Regression tool.

DIY:

Download this Excel workbook: Regression.xls (20 KB). Use the Regression tool to duplicate the regression in this PDF: Regression.pdf (60 KB).
